Warp PvP, souls keep inventory system, new events, crates and trades, QoL improvements, & rebalancing

Warp PvP

  • To go to the PvP arena, use /warp pvp
  • When you reach warp pvp, the game will attempt to load a different resource pack (/resource vanilla)
  • While in warp pvp
    • Keep Inventory
    • Keep Singularities
    • Infinite Ammo
    • No mobs (unless an admin spawns them in)
    • No weather (unless an admin changes the weather)
    • No fall damage
  • Quartermaster, ender chest, and loadout accessible in warp PvP
  • Step on a slime block to get launched in your direction
  • Jump pads can be found around the map that launches you up tall buildings

New Features

  • Soul System
    • Every day, each player receives 5 souls
    • When a player dies with at least 1 soul, inventory is kept and 1 soul is lost
    • When a player with no souls dies, inventory is dropped as normal
    • Souls and inventory will not be lost when dying in a safe zone or /warp pvp
    • Souls are reset when the server restarts (12:00AM Midnight California Time)
  • 4 New Entropy Events
    • Infinity of War: Reload no longer takes ammo
    • Infinity of Will: Rapidly regain energy
    • Infinity of Nightmares: All status effect buildups are twice as effective
    • Infinity of Gravity: All damages and status buildups become true damage
    • These 4 events affect all worlds, not just Velocity
    • Entries for the new events can be found in /database
  • Playtime Rewards
    • Players will now receive 1 Singularity every 10 minutes
    • A TIP or LORE message will display alongside the reward
    • The TIP or LORE sent to each player is different and is customized based on their conditions
  • Player Markers
    • Nearby players will be marked with an arrow
  • /trade
    • Added a /trade command to safely trade with other players
    • Both players need to be within 10 blocks of each other
    • Trade up to 16 items at a time
    • 3-second delay after both parties confirm the trade before processing it
  • Crates
    • Added 4 types of crates
      • Weapon Crates give one random weapon
      • Ammo Crates give three random ammo
      • Artificer’s Inspiration gives a random paradigm or moddable weapon
      • Crate Crate gives 3 random crates
      • All crates have a small chance to give Nanites or Empty Capsules
    • Vote Vouchers can be traded for Crate Crates

Rebalancing

  • Loadout Changes
    • Several loadout items have been rebalanced to achieve a faster average time to kill
    • All cores received a massive decrease to regen delay
    • Titan and Juggernaut health reduced
    • Juggernaut resistances decreased
    • Titan speed increased
    • Leaf speed and health reduced
    • Sentry damage bonus decreased, health increased
    • Hull Fortification max health reduced
    • Metal Plating resistances reduced, electricity weakness reduced
  • Weapon Changes
    • Barrett M82A1, AWP, Lee Enfield damage reduced
    • Barrett M82A1 fire rate reduced
    • Lee Enfield fire rate increased
    • AA-12 damage reduced
    • M4-Carbine damage increased
    • RPG-7 and Milkor M32A1 damage reduced, proc increased
  • Mob Changes
    • Marauders now turn even slower and are even less accurate
    • Marauders will now show their weapon type in their name
    • Marauder (Rifle) magazine size reduced by half
  • Other Changes
    • Players now respawn at full energy
    • Players will always drop an experience orb upon death that restores 100 energy on pickup

Other Changes

  • Server base version switched to 1.18.2, any players in 1.18+ can join
  • Reloading weapons in safe zones no longer consume ammo
  • Tier 1 equipment no longer requires private rank to use
  • New players no longer receive 1 free singularity
  • The void will now kill you instantly
  • Rain no longer deals damage, but still deals electricity status buildup
  • Hit confirmation sound now properly only plays for the attacker
  • Added sound effects for player abilities
  • Lowered volume of weapon sounds
  • Reduced number of vote sites to 3
  • Added a Vote Voucher vendor NPC at spawn that trades vote vouchers and beginner loadouts
  • Added tab auto-completion for /entropy /director and /nbt
  • Fixed a bug that caused explosions to deal damage twice
  • Fixed a weapon-related bug that affected players with high latency
  • HTTPS for Dynmap, maps.velocity.passerines.dev
  • Added new world preview (w1_garden) to Dynmap
